Appointments & Scheduling

How do I book an appointment?

Call us at (905) 895-8031, email info@eastriverdental.com, or visit our booking page. We're open 6 days a week including evenings and Saturdays.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For routine appointments we recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead. For urgent or emergency care, call us the same day — we reserve slots daily.

Do you accept walk-in patients?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome, though calling ahead ensures minimal wait time. For dental emergencies, always call first so we can prioritise you.

What are your office hours?

Monday 9am–7pm, Tuesday 8am–7pm, Wednesday 9am–5pm, Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 9am–2pm, Saturday 9am–2pm. Closed Sundays.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Call us at least 24 hours before your appointment. Last-minute cancellations make it harder for other patients to access care, so we appreciate advance notice.

Insurance & Payment

Do you direct bill insurance?

Yes. We direct bill most major dental insurance providers in Ontario. Bring your card and we handle all claims paperwork on your behalf.

What insurances do you accept?

We work with Sunlife, Manulife, Great-West Life, Blue Cross, Desjardins, Industrial Alliance, and many more. Call us to confirm your specific plan.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes — 0% interest payment plans with same-day approval. No credit check required. Ask our front desk team to set one up at your next visit.

Are you a CDCP provider?

Yes. East River Dental is a proud participant in the Canadian Dental Care Plan. We direct bill CDCP for all eligible treatments.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, debit, cash, and e-transfer. Insurance claims are processed directly — you only pay your portion.

Treatments & Care

How often should I get a cleaning?

For most patients, every 6 months is ideal. Some patients with gum disease or higher cavity risk may need cleanings every 3–4 months.

Do you see children?

Absolutely. We welcome patients of all ages — from young children getting their first exam to seniors needing restorative care.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Professional whitening under dental supervision is safe and effective. Over-the-counter products can cause sensitivity if misused — ask us about safer in-office options.

Are dental X-rays safe?

Yes. Our digital X-rays use minimal radiation — far less than a typical flight or day of natural sun exposure — and we use protective lead aprons.

Do you offer sedation?

We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for patients with dental anxiety. Talk to us about your comfort level and we'll find the right approach for you.

First Visit & New Patients

What happens at my first appointment?

We take a full health history, digital X-rays, and perform a comprehensive oral exam including an oral cancer screening. We then walk you through our findings and create your personalised care plan.

I'm nervous — how do you handle dental anxiety?

Tell us. We never dismiss anxiety. Our team works at your pace, explains every step, takes breaks when needed, and uses gentle techniques. Nitrous oxide is also available.

Is there parking at your office?

Yes — we're in the Newmarket Plaza at 130 Davis Dr #35 with ample free parking directly in front of the building.
